"Mike is a superb guide who knows the New River from a lifetime of experience. I think it's the best river in the Eastern U.S. to catch trophy smallmouth bass on a fly." -- Lefty Kreh
New River Fly Fishing was established in 2007 by veteran fishing guide Mike Smith who began guiding on the New River more than twenty-five years ago and still remains passionate about sharing his experience with clients and others both on and off the water. Over the years, Mike has been a featured speaker at numerous fly fishing events and has introduced hundreds of novice anglers to the sport he loves through his popular on-the-water beginner fly fishing classes. Mike is joined by a team of expert guides who have intimate knowledge of their local fisheries. Read more about fishing with us in Smallmouth Chronicles.
