New River Fly Fishing is operated by veteran fishing guide Mike Smith, who has over 35 years of experience fishing the New. In 1997 he began one of the area's first guide services, and has since helped establish the New River as a premier fly fishing destination. Mike is on the pro staff at Temple Fork Outfitters (TFO) and is also a fly designer for Flymen Fishing Company.

Fly Fishing Instruction ($175/person)

Interested in learning to fly fish or need a refresher course in the basics? We offer half-day, on the water clinics that cover beginner casting, equipment, knots, reading water, mending, and presentation. All lessons last four hours and are wade fishing only. Rods, reels, and flies are provided (bring your own waders). No trout license required.
